  • Chapter 6 response: Digital Technologies in the Classroom

Having different types of digital technologies in a classroom creates a productive learning environment that enhances students to learn. I prefer to have many different technologies in my class room because they might facilitate my lessons, make them clear and understandable, and increase my students’ knowledge. Technologies also will save my time as a teacher and also they will save my students’ time. For example, when using an electronic white board, students don’t have to copy everything from the board because this board can record everything that has been written on it. According to teaching and learning with technology book “ as you write on an electronic whiteboard, a build-in scanner records the drawing on test in the colors you are using. The recorder digital image is then displayed on a monitor… Once saved, white board information can be … placed in an electronic archive for your students to access for review”( Lever-Duffy and B. Mcdonald 154). Therefore, technology will make the process of learning easy for both students and teachers and they will spend less time on learning materials.

  • Chapter 11 response:  Audiovisual Technologies

  •  Talking book is one of the traditional audio technologies that used in classrooms. It is a perfect technology that crate students’ desire to read.  According to teaching and learning with technology book “students can either read along with a talking book or listen and respond to questions as the audio book or story progresses” ( Lever-Duffy and B. Mcdonald 289). Therefore, I can use this technology in the class to improve my students’ skills on reading, improve their grammar structures, and their listening skills.

Internet audio is one of emerging audio technology. It is a faster way to look for audios that meets your classroom lessons.  According to chapter 11 in the book “ ]by[ using internet audio, you can download and store only what you need rather than having to buy full CD” ( Lever-Duffy and B. Mcdonald 291). Therefore, this technology saves teachers and student time, and money and they can use it in many different things in the classroom such as, listening to word stress, searching for a scientific lecture or conversation.

TV is one of traditional visual technologies that might use in classroom. This technology allows teachers and students watch a live scientific program or watch the news.

Digital cameras are one of emerging visual technology. According to the book “ ]digital cameras’[  features can include the ability to record digital images to mini DV tape for later transfer to a computer or for playback on a Television” . It allows teachers or students share their lessons with other such as sharing the lesson in Youtupe.com.
